Learning About Holi – Festival of Colours
Our tamariki began the morning with mat time, where we explored the story and significance of Holi. As part of our learning at our early learning centre, we discussed how Holi is celebrated as the festival of colours representing love, new beginnings, and the triumph of good over evil. The tamariki were engaged, curious, and excited to share their thoughts during our kōrero.
Creative Thread Painting Activity at Fun N Play Childcare Papatoetoe
To extend our learning, tamariki participated in a colourful thread painting experience. Using bright, vibrant colours, they represented the joyful spirit of Holi. It was beautiful to see their creativity, fine motor skills, and self-expression shine something we truly value at our childcare Papatoetoe.
Safety Awareness & Stranger Discussion
During our second mat time, we focused on an important safety topic what to do if there is ever a stranger outside. We discussed quiet time, listening carefully to kaiako, and staying safe together. Our tamariki showed great understanding and maturity, demonstrating how learning at our daycare centre supports not only academic growth but also social and emotional development.
Active Outdoor Play & Teamwork
Outdoor time was full of energy and fun! Tamariki enjoyed a balancing ball game, building coordination, focus, and teamwork skills. Physical play is an important part of our programme at our early learning centre, helping children grow strong, confident, and resilient.
Sensory Water Play & Exploration
In our water play area, tamariki enjoyed washing toy animals while exploring coloured water and ice, discovering different textures, temperatures, and changes through sensory play.They discussed textures, temperatures, and how water changes such rich hands-on learning! Experiences like these make our childcare centre near me a place where curiosity and discovery happen naturally every day.
Construction, Magnets & Collaborative Play at Childcare papatoetoe
Meanwhile, others were busy playing football, building creative structures in the sandpit construction zone, and collaborating indoors with magnets and blocks. Throughout the day, we observed wonderful problem-solving, imagination, and cooperative play the heart of learning at Fun N Play, a leading childcare centre for families in Papatoetoe.
