A Fun Day of Exploration and Learning
Today our tamariki enjoyed a busy and engaging day of learning through play.
The children explored a variety of indoor experiences, including imaginative pretend play, building with LEGO and blocks, and working together to create, problem-solve, and share ideas.
During our morning mat time, the tamariki enthusiastically joined in with action songs, including Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes, while practising colour recognition. Our preschoolers also explored counting by using their fingers and counting different animals, helping to strengthen their counting skills, one-to-one correspondence, and number recognition.
Children enjoyed free play both indoors and outdoors. They developed their movement skills through balancing, bike riding, and active play. Sensory activities with sandpit play and playdough encouraged creativity and exploration.
During afternoon mat time, preschoolers learned about Community Helpers and how they support our community. Toddlers explored different body parts to build language skills and self-awareness.
As part of this learning, children took part in a creative toothbrush painting activity. They painted healthy white teeth while learning about the importance of brushing daily and maintaining good health.
During transition time, children worked together to create a number 1 collage. This hands-on activity supported early numeracy skills, teamwork, and creativity.
It was wonderful to see our children actively participating, building confidence, and learning through meaningful play experiences throughout the day.
