As it was a rainy day, tamariki enjoyed a fun day of indoor learning.
Children took part in many activities. They built with Lego, played with wooden blocks, and enjoyed colouring and painting at the art table. They also had fun in the role play and pretend play corner.
During mat time, tamariki danced to their favourite songs. They enjoyed following the dance moves together. Some children also led mat time by choosing songs and singing with their friends. This helped build confidence and leadership skills.
Children spent time playing together throughout the day. They shared toys, took turns, and helped one another during group play. As a result, they developed stronger communication skills and friendships.
Hands-on activities encouraged tamariki to explore new ideas and express their creativity. At the same time, they learned to become more independent in a safe and caring environment where every child is valued.
As part of our Matariki learning, children decorated our Pōhutukawa tree with colourful leaves and flowers. They worked together to create a beautiful display.
For the Tupuānuku activity, tamariki helped peel vegetables for our yummy feast. They also learned about vegetables and other food that grows from the earth.
These activities helped children learn about culture, nature, and teamwork. Overall, it was a meaningful and enjoyable day of learning.
