Today we had a cold morning followed by a lovely sunny afternoon. Tamariki enjoyed exploring and learning through both indoor and outdoor experiences throughout the day.
Indoors, children had lots of fun playing with magnetic blocks and Lego, using their creativity and imagination to build different structures.
Tamariki also enjoyed exploring the grooming corner, engaging in pretend play while taking care of dolls and getting themselves ready. At the art table, children expressed themselves through drawing and colouring, creating beautiful artwork with enthusiasm. They also coloured and decorated crowns for King’s Birthday, showing their creativity and proudly designing their own special crowns.
During mat time, our preschoolers focused on learning letters and their sounds, while our toddlers enjoyed learning how to count their fingers. It was wonderful to see tamariki confidently participating and engaging in group learning experiences. Children showed great listening skills and were excited to share their ideas and answers with their teachers and friends. Teachers encouraged conversations during group time, helping tamariki build confidence in speaking and communicating with others.
Outdoors, tamariki had an amazing time with water play, pouring and transferring water from one container to another. In the sandpit, children loved pretending to cook food by mixing sand and water together. They also enjoyed bike riding, building with blocks, and challenging themselves on the hurdles while developing their coordination and confidence. Tamariki worked together, took turns, and encouraged one another during outdoor play, helping to strengthen their social skills and friendships. The sunny afternoon provided a wonderful opportunity for children to stay active, explore nature, and enjoy fresh air while engaging in meaningful play experiences.
During transition time, tamariki explored patterns using coloured bears. They matched the same coloured bears to complete the patterns and worked out which colour would come next, supporting their early mathematical thinking and problem-solving skills. Some children confidently identified repeating colour sequences and helped their friends complete the activities, showing teamwork and cooperation. Throughout the day, children demonstrated curiosity, creativity, and confidence as they explored different learning experiences in a fun and supportive environment. It was lovely to see tamariki actively engaged, learning through play, and enjoying positive interactions with their peers and teachers.
