Our tamariki enjoyed a wonderful day of learning, creativity, and exploration at Fun N Play Childcare Centre Papatoetoe. Through a range of play-based activities, they built their imagination, communication, social skills, and confidence.

Imaginative Play at the Ice Cream Shop

First, the children enjoyed pretending to run an ice cream shop. They took orders, served colourful ice creams, and interacted with their friends. Through this fun role play, they developed communication skills, confidence, creativity, and social skills.

Learning About Community Helpers

Next, during mat time, we talked about different community helpers and the important work they do. The children shared their ideas and recognised familiar helpers. As a result, they practised listening, speaking, and sharing with others.

Creative Art and Colour Exploration

After that, the children created beautiful sun catchers using different shapes and vibrant hues. They enjoyed choosing materials and creating their own designs. This activity helped develop fine-motor skills, concentration, visual recognition, and self-expression.

Discovering Shapes Through Hands-On Learning

Later, we went on a fun shape hunt around our learning environment. The children searched for and identified different shapes using toys and everyday objects. In this way, they developed early maths skills, shape recognition, and new vocabulary.
