Tamariki began their morning by exploring the grooming corner and kitchen area through pretend play. They used their imagination to create their own kitchens and houses while enjoying role-play with friends. As they played together, they shared ideas, communicated with one another and developed important social skills.
Building Together with Wooden Blocks
Next, children explored wooden blocks and created different structures. They connected the blocks, shared ideas and helped their friends during the activity. As they worked together, they developed cooperation, teamwork and problem-solving skills. At the same time, they had fun exploring their creativity.
Making Number Learning Fun
During morning mat time, toddlers explored numbers through active play. First, they joined foam mats together to form numbers. Then, they jumped on the numbers while counting. They also counted the animals placed on leaves and talked about how many they could see.
Meanwhile, the Transition Class connected Spring with mathematics through flower stem counting. Children counted the flower stems and matched them with the correct numbers. This hands-on activity made early mathematics more engaging and meaningful.
Spring Sensory and Creative Exploration
Later, children enjoyed outdoor play with sandpit activities and bike riding. They also took part in a Spring-themed sensory experience. Using droppers, they dripped water onto ice containing colourful frozen flowers. Through this activity, children developed fine-motor skills, concentration and curiosity.
Finally, children explored their creativity through Spring flower painting. They used forks to create colourful flowers while experimenting with different colours. Each child enjoyed creating their own unique artwork.
